It’s that time of year again. A time to be with family and friends and share gifts for the ones you love. This year at Eat With Your Eyes we wanted to do our bit in the local community. As you may have seen televised this week, Food Banks are struggling to keep up with demand. And as the masters of food branding, what better way for us to get stuck in.
We gathered together tins, packets and toiletries to donate to our local WIK Foodbank. We hope this goes towards a mega stash this year and help even more people in dire need for these provisions.
A little about foodbanks;
• There are now about 2,000 food banks across the UK, with the Trussell Trust accounting for about 1,200 of them.
• The number of supplies being distributed has risen by 73% over the past five years.
• Families with children are most likely to rely on food banks, making up half of those who use them, a new study reveals
